2016 has taught me a lot. And I wanted to share with you some "life guidelines" I've made for myself and want to live by. I hope this post will help you have a happier life and make wiser decisions. Also I've decided to add a Bible verse for every guideline so you know I have a foundation to say that as well as my life experience. Enjoy your read! Let's dig deeper! :)
1.Give without expecting to receive anything back. "Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return." (Ecclesiastes 11:1)
2. Never take anything too seriously. Nothing is permanent. And we will never be able to see the whole image. We see only fragments and can only guess what happens next. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
3. Allow yourself to do what you believe is right to do and not what others expect from you to do. The only thing that is important is what Lord thinks of it. "When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." (Proverbs 16:7)
4. Be always nice to people. You never know how life will turn. You never know how words may affect someone. "Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." (Proverbs 16:24)
5.Being happy is a skill you learn. You have to train this skill to become good at that. It's your choice to enjoy your life and be thankful. “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” ( Nehemiah 8:10)
6. Be thankful. There are always some people who don't even have what you have. And also when you stop being thankful it's like the first step DOWN. The beginning of a painful downfall. "For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened." (Romans 1:21) & "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Have an amazing year 2017!
God bless you! <3
